At 3one4 Capital, growth has been a deliberate outcome of depth, not its substitute. As the firm has expanded across sectors and supported founders through longer, more complex company-building cycles, our leadership has evolved in parallel – from early executional intensity to seasoned institutional judgement. This evolution reflects our ability to navigate complexity, compound insight over time, and maintain coherence as scale increases.
This progression has been intentional. The firm has built leadership from within, anchored in sustained proximity to execution, long-term ownership of outcomes, and clarity under ambiguity. That discipline underpins how 3one4 Capital invests, governs, and compounds institutional strength over time.
A decade into its journey, 3one4 Capital stands as a platform defined by enduring performance and a leadership bench that strengthens as the firm scales.
In this context, we are pleased to celebrate four such journeys with the elevation of Akshay Sharma, Ayushi Garg, Monica Umesh, and Sonal Saldanha to Principal. Each has played a formative role in shaping the firm’s investing and portfolio engagement model, demonstrating consistent ownership, deep involvement in decision-making, and responsibility across investing, growth and capital development, and governance.
As Pranav Pai, Founding Partner at 3one4 Capital, notes, “Enduring firms don’t compound capital alone; they deliberately compound and institutionalise judgement. Growing leadership from within allows our shared learning to persist, decision-making precision to deepen, and performance to be repeatable and resilient.”
At the core of the firm’s approach is deep founder partnership. 3one4 Capital invests early, remains closely engaged through periods of uncertainty, and supports companies as they achieve product-market fit, scale teams, and build resilient businesses. Delivering this consistently demands sound judgement, care, and operational depth. These elevations meaningfully strengthen the firm’s ability to serve founders and compound outcomes across the portfolio.
Reflecting on this commitment, Pranav Pai added, “Durable founder partnerships are a function of commitment and consistency, shaped by leaders who grow with the firm and own the long arc of their decisions. Our leaders have demonstrated this in action every day, and we are elated to be building for the next decade alongside them."
Within this system, individual leaders have added range without fragmenting the firm’s identity.
As Nruthya Madappa, Partner, explained, “The decisions that shape outcomes most are rarely singular. They are patterns of judgement repeated over time."
Akshay Sharma has shaped how the firm builds conviction in categories where outcomes are earned through depth and sustained execution. He pulls conversations back to sequencing, unit economics, and the fundamentals that must hold true for momentum to be sustainable. He pushes beyond early signals to stress-test resilience in tightening markets, strengthening how the firm backs businesses where operational depth defines the moat and execution defines the win.
“Akshay brings discipline to how we place conviction in hard-to-build sectors. He combines thesis-driven thinking with the ability to sit with ambiguity, build conviction over time, and act decisively. That approach has delivered consistently across investments and in how founders experience his partnership through complex, long-term builds,” said Anurag Ramdasan, Partner.
Ayushi Garg has strengthened how the firm supports founders at the intersection of ambition, capital, and expansion. She has built a repeatable way of navigating growth and capital choices, bringing structure to complex trade-offs while preserving ambition across fundraising, partnerships, and strategic expansion.
“Ayushi has the rare ability to amplify founder ambition and help them tactically translate it into accelerated growth and successful transactions. Founders trust her as a formidable ally in value creation. She can visualise the full arc of a strategic decision and help founders move forward on difficult decisions with conviction. Through her work across growth, partnerships, fundraises, and M&A, she has become central to how we deliver deep value at 3one4 Capital,” observed Nruthya Madappa.
Monica Umesh has built and strengthened the firm’s governance foundation, shaping how both the platform and its portfolio companies navigate complexity as scale increases. Her work anticipates risk early and aligns rigour with execution, allowing speed and integrity to reinforce each other as scale and complexity grow.
Her influence is evident in the words of Siddarth Pai, Founding Partner, “Monica has expanded the legal and regulatory backbone of the firm to transform compliance into a competitive edge. She excels at untying the Gordian Knot of complexity while ensuring that the firm’s interests are protected at all times. This has allowed the firm and portfolio to navigate risk and complexity with foresight and decisiveness."
Sonal Saldanha brings deep technical judgement across AI, fintech, and frontier technology. He interrogates complex systems rigorously, translates them into business implications, and strengthens how the firm evaluates deep technical work. He applies the same systems thinking internally, building leverage that allows the platform to scale without diluting standards.
As Anurag Ramdasan puts it, “Sonal brings a builder’s mindset and deep engineering judgement to our investing. His ability to translate complex technology into real-world systems has strengthened how we engage with emerging technologies and continue to innovate as a firm."
These elevations reflect readiness to operate with broader scope and responsibilities that expand alongside the firm. What connects these leaders is not similarity of role, but a shared operating posture. They stay close to founders through difficult moments, approach problems with seriousness, and take responsibility for outcomes rather than activity. Over time, this approach has shaped how 3one4 thinks, decides, and shows up as a partner.
As Siddarth Pai reflects, “Firm building is an infinite game. When leadership grows organically, judgement compounds rather than resets.”
Over nearly a decade, 3one4 Capital has partnered with founders through multiple market cycles. The portfolio reflects this continuity – late-stage companies preparing for liquidity events, mid-stage businesses progressing towards EBITDA positivity, and early-stage companies continuing to attract high-quality follow-on capital despite tighter market conditions.
As the firm completes its tenth year, the elevation of Akshay, Ayushi, Monica, and Sonal reflects how 3one4 Capital continues to build itself. By investing as deliberately in its people as in the companies it backs, the firm reinforces its belief in compounding judgement over time and in what it means to be #Team3one4.
