We’re happy to announce Nruthya Madappa’s elevation to Director at 3one4 Capital!

Nruthya joined the firm as Principal and Head of Growth and Capital Development in 2020 and has successfully led topline and capital growth for the portfolio at 3one4 Capital. Nruthya has been deeply involved in helping the firm’s portfolio companies and founders plan and achieve financial and strategic objectives including capital raises, revenue acceleration, M&A, and exits.

Before 3one4 Capital, Nruthya led investments in over 25 companies as the Managing Partner at The CoWrks Foundry, an early-stage business accelerator. She also established global partnerships with Yale and Columbia University for the program. Prior to that, she drove the Revenue and Growth orgs at Cuemath and spearheaded the 15M Series B from Capital G and Sequoia Capital for the edtech giant. Throughout her career, Nruthya has designed and scaled products, and raised capital for high growth companies - strengths she brings to bear for the 3one4 portfolio. Nruthya holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

As the firm's first Director, Nruthya will continue to lead and expand the Growth and Capital vertical which she currently heads. She's been instrumental in augmenting post-investment support by helping companies raise growth capital and creating opportunities across 3one4 Capital's corporate network and the wider startup ecosystem. The firm closed a total of 51 deals in 2021 - including follow-on rounds at higher valuations from top-tier local and global VCs, PEs, and strategic investors.

Her background in creating and growing multiple businesses to market-leading positions both as a venture capitalist and previously at high-growth companies makes her the ideal partner for founders in growth-stage scaling.

Nruthya has channeled her years of technical and operating experience towards building a partnership-oriented approach that acts as a force multiplier and supports the exponential growth of our portfolio. Her dedication to enhancing our deep involvement model has delivered tangible results, while aligning with the firm’s core principles of intentional specialisation and an unyielding bias towards action. We are grateful to have her join the firm’s leadership and look forward to working with her to partner with the generational companies from India.

Commenting on Nruthya’s elevation to Director, Deena Jacob, co-founder of Open Financial Technologies said, “Nruthya amazes me with her resourcefulness which has worked wonders at various points in Open’s journey. Business to funding to talent growth, she has a way to spot and extend the right support in every aspect and a rare way of extending the much needed positivity and encouraging support in the entrepreneurial journey.”

3one4 Capital has been ranked by Preqin, a global reference database for asset management, as India’s top performer for two of its funds, in the recent Alternative Assets report. The seed and early-stage funds managed by the firm have been recognized for their performance amongst the India-focused venture capital funds in this Asia Pacific-focused report published in 2021. With industry-leading Net IRRs, 3one4 Capital’s Rising I & Fund II are the top two amongst the best performing India-focused VC funds between the vintage years, 2010- 2018.

With its third early-stage fund and its fifth fund overall, the firm now manages a combined corpus of INR 2,300 Cr (USD 300 Mn) and a portfolio of over 70+ investments across the early stage.
