The next phase of India’s structural transformation requires builders who can parse signals from noise. At 3one4 Capital, our internship program places interns directly inside the work of mapping these shifts. Instead of observing from the periphery, interns take on active roles to execute live investment research, drive portfolio operations, and solve cross-functional problems that lack predetermined answers. The goal is building sound judgment under conditions of genuine ambiguity. By the end of the program, interns leave with sharp analytical thinking and a clear sense of the work they are uniquely built for.
Interns build investment theses, evaluate new sectors, and support portfolio companies through constantly evolving market conditions. Cross-functional collaboration sits at the centre of this work, requiring interns to think like operators and connect insights across different teams and founder goals. They learn to link research directly to investment decisions and portfolio operations. The ability to hold the full picture compounds across every role that follows in venture capital and company building.
Every intern develops a point of view and learns to defend it. We value rigorous rationale over arriving at an immediately correct answer, as a hypothesis that fails ultimately produces more precise thinking. Throughout the program, interns must answer consistent questions regarding why a specific metric matters and how it advances firm objectives. Judgment is built by developing the instinct to find the answer through independent inquiry, rather than waiting for instructions.
Interns participate in conversations with founders and domain experts as active contributors rather than passive note-takers. They see the trade-offs behind a decision and shape the inputs that lead to final outcomes. Every intern leaves with tangible outputs, including published research and defended investment theses. They graduate into the 3one4 intern alumni community, joining a network of operators navigating startups and investing across India with shared institutional context.
Our alumni demonstrate this operating discipline across functions.
Vignesh Krishnan joined as an Industrial Trainee in the Portfolio Management and Finance team to evaluate business plans and monitor daily operations. He developed a strong instinct for asking questions that surface hidden operational realities, leading to a permanent role at the firm. Vignesh notes that true individual and organisational growth stems from this culture of inquiry.

Advik Jain played a key role in crafting comprehensive pitch decks covering diverse themes, including the Content and Influencer Economy, Insurtech, Fintech, and Healthtech. His contributions involved conducting thorough technical assessments and formulating foundational steps for the financial evaluation of startups in this sector. Advik found the pace and caliber of the team to be a constant forcing function for learning.

Shriya Sahni joined the team to own the end-to-end delivery of an AI event. She managed every component across planning, coordination, and execution. This direct test showed how abstract ideas translate into physical outcomes, and Shriya found this high level of ownership to be a strong lesson in taking responsibility.

Ailiya Philips joined to understand how venture works beyond the surface. She wrote an investment memo, contributed to a sector thesis, and helped design an internship pipeline. Engaging with both the analytical and operational sides of the firm, she built a grounded perspective on how ideas move from evaluation to execution. She highlights the team's genuine investment in mentoring interns as a defining feature of her experience.

The program runs on a rolling basis and receives over 1,500 applications annually. We select interns who are curious, possess high agency, and demonstrate a track record of leading complex research or entrepreneurial initiatives. To apply, submit an application via our portal.
Judgment cannot be taught in a classroom. It must be forged through execution. We are building a platform for the next generation of operators to test their instincts against real market problems.
